Installation
Your @Quote Plus 32 representative will walk you through the installation and setup process. However, for those of you who requested and received a "Demo" copy of the software and want to get started right away, we encourage you to install it yourself. Please review the License Agreement before getting started.
If you are comfortable moving around your computer and have installed software in the past, you should find this software easy to install. Note that these instructions are for installing single user (non-network) workstations. If you are not comfortable installing software or if you need to do a multi-user (network) install, please give your HERO Data Services representative a call before getting started and we will help you with the installation.
|
Please note that if your computer runs Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP, you will need to be logged in as the local-machine administrator account in order to properly install @Quote Plus 32. If you don't know what this means, contact your computer person (or a HERO Data Services representative) for assistance.

Installing Internet Explorer 5.5
While this can be done either before or after installing @Quote Plus 32, it MUST be done or you will not be able to run reports.
1. Before installing the software, make sure to log out of all open programs. Place the @Quote Plus 32 CD in your CD-Rom drive, then browse to its contents. Click on the \IE55 folder. From that folder, run IE5SETUP.EXE. The installation process will begin.

2. Accept the agreement then click Next.

3. Choose custom installation then click Next.
4. You will get a list of Component Options to install, broken up into groups:

a. Make sure everything in first group (Internet Explorer 5.5) is CHECKED.

b. Scroll down the list and make sure everything else is UNCHECKED. Pay special attention to Visual Basic Scripting Support, found under the Web Authoring Components group, as it will likely need to be unchecked. Unchecking this does not affect @Quote Plus 32, but will help protect your system from viruses. Click Next.
4. Installation will begin. Accept all other defaults during the rest of the installation process. Be patient as Internet Explorer installs. This may take several minutes. Note that the screen view will change throught the installation process.

5. Select Finish when prompted. The computer will need to restart. Internet Explorer 5.5 has been installed.
