Proposal Defaults

To setup and edit Proposal defaults go to Maintenance -> Defaults on the top menu. The @Quote Plus Defaults window will open up. Click on the Proposal tab.

Use the Proposal tab to set up and edit the following information:

Style: Specify which style you would like your proposals to print in:
  • Style 1:    Large, single-spaced font designed for tractor-feed impact printers using a pre-printed form on multiple-ply paper.
  • Style 2:   Proportional-spaced font designed for laser and inkjet printers on plain, single-sheet paper.
  • Style 3:   Similar to Style 2, but units, qty, and extensions always print; designed for retail sales.
  • Style 4:   Similar to Style 2, but optional items fall out at bottom of proposal instead of after each phase.
We suggest you print out a sample proposal for each style and determine which one best suits your needs.

Options: Clicking this button will open the Proposal layout options window, in which you can add a header or a footer, and adjust the margins.

Font: The font your proposal will print in. Click on the Select button to change your font.

Stop Body @: This number can be adjusted to cause the body of the proposal to stop printing higher or lower on the page. Note that this only applies to Style 1. The number corresponds to the number of lines to stop printing detail lines of the proposal. Increasing this number will cause the bottom of the detail lines of the proposal to stop printing higher on the page before starting a new page. A lower value will cause the proposal to have the detail lines print lower on the page before starting a new page.

Days Good: Number of days a proposal is good for; this will print below the detail lines on every page.

Font Adj: This field allows you to increase your font size.

GT Prints: Specify if/when the grand total prints on the proposal -- always, never or unless options exist. Unless options exist suppresses the grand total if any upgrade items, optional sequences or optional phases exist on the job.

Special Pos: By default, where on the proposal any special instructions keyed via the Special command on the Job screen should print.

Special Notes as HTML: This box should ALWAYS be checked unless directed to do otherwise by a HERO Data Services representitive.

Suppress 'Proposal': Check this box to keep the word 'PROPOSAL' from printing in the upper right hand corner of your proposals. You might check the box if, for example, you print your proposals on company stationary or preprinted forms.

Suppress Company Info: Check this box to keep your company information, such as company name and address, from printing in the upper left hand corner of your proposals. You might check the box if, for example, you print your proposals on company stationary or preprinted forms.

Terms: Any special statement of terms to be printed at the bottom of every proposal page (maximum 100 characters).

Verbiage: This is a memo field into which you can type any special notes for customers that you need to appear on all proposals. These notes will always appear at the start of the proposal. This is typically used to explain the terms of the proposal to the customer and what to do with the contract.

Click Close to save changes and exit the Defaults window.
