Salespeople

 

Overview

The Salespeople object is located in the left pane of your screen. It is used to set up all your salespeople in the system. Individual Salespeople are listed in alphabetical order under the Salespeople object. Clicking on one of the Salespeople will open the corresponding Salespeople form in the right pane of the screen. Enter and edit your information for that salesperson here.

 

Fields

General Contact Information:

Provide the name, address, telephone numbers and email address of the salesperson.

Initials: The initials of the salesperson. The initials must be unique (that is, no two salespeople should have the same initials). These are used when assigning a salesperson to a client and job.

Extern: [030430] This field allows you to enter an external salesperson id when using @Quote Plus 32 in conjunction with a third-party accounting package.

Commission Base: Select Sales to indicate that the salesperson's commission should be calculated as a percentage of the total sale, or Profit if it should be calculated as a percentage of the profit margin of a sale.

Percent: Specify the default percentage rate of commission for this salesperson.

Use commission table for Job Type: This field is used to specify that, if a commission rate table has been specified for the Job Type of this job, the table should be used to calculate commission. If no table has been specified for this Job Type, the salesperson's default commission percentage is used.

Retire: [030224] Like employees and inventory items, salespeople can be retired by checking the Retire box. Note that retired salespeople will remain on file for reports; however, their initials will be dropped from the dropdown list on the client and job screens.

 

Menu

To access the Salespeople menu box, click on one of the individual salespeople listed in the left pane then right click. An example of this menu box is show below.


Edit: If Edit Protection has been turned on in General defaults, you will need to use the Edit command before you can edit data on the Salesperson form.

New: This command allows you to add a new salesperson. It will open a window that asks you to enter the last name, the first name and the initials of the new salesperson. Upon entering the name, the corresponding Salesperson form will open in the right pane in which you can enter your information for that salesperson.

Refresh Salespeople: When adding new salespeople, this command allows you to "refresh" the list of salespeople, allowing you to see those that have been newly added.
