General Defaults
To setup and edit General defaults go to Maintenance -> Defaults on the top menu. The @Quote Plus Defaults window will open up. Click on the General tab.
Use the General tab to set up and edit the following information:
|
Connection Timer: |
The interval
(in seconds) in which each workstation will check to see if it has
been kicked off the system by the administrator. A recommended
setting is about 15 - 20 seconds - larger values will cause the
workstations to delay longer before exiting the system when ordered
to, a smaller value can cause @Quote Plus 32 to slow down on slower machines.

|
Min Wage Rate: |
[021104] The Min Wage Rate field has been moved to the Employee defaults tab.
|
|
OT Threshold: |
[021104] The OT Threshold field has been moved to the Employee defaults tab.
|
|
Labor Burden %: |
Used by @Quote Plus 32 to estimate the extra costs of employees beyond the labor pool and/or their hourly rates, such as insurance, benefits, etc. This is typically represented by a static percentage of the sale of each phase/job and will be calculated as an expense on all reports that calculate job cost. If you do not wish to use a labor burden percentage, set this value to 0.00. Optionally, you can check the Markup Price option, and @Quote Plus 32 will markup the cost of the labor for each item of the job by the Labor Burden % and pass that amount along to the customer, so you can build profit into the labor portion of the job as well.
|
|
Overhead %: |
Similar to Labor
Burden %, but used to simulate a general overhead amount as a percentage
of the sale. As with Labor Burden, you can tell @Quote Plus 32 to markup the
price to the customer by this percentage by checking the Markup Price
option.
|
|
Other Cost %: |
Similar to Labor
Burden %, but used to simulate a percentage of miscellaneous costs
as a percentage of the sale. As with Labor Burden and Overhead, you
can tell @Quote Plus 32 to markup the price to the customer by this
percentage by checking the Markup Price option.
|
|
Edit Protection: |
Disables all fields
in the Client, Job, Inventory and Salespeople forms until the Edit command is given. This prevents accidental type-overs and erasures of data. Note also that if the Edit privilege has not been granted on the User tab, the user does not get the Edit command and can only look at the data without editing.
To access the Edit command, click on the object you wish to edit, highlighting that object, then right click. This will open up a menu box. Select Edit from the menu options.
